“We built the Women in Law Mentorship Programme to support and strengthen the next generation of women attorneys in Trinidad and Tobago.”

More than mentorship. A foundation for excellence.
The legal profession presents real challenges to those just entering it — navigating career paths, professional expectations, and ethical responsibilities all at once. CPFL Law understands this firsthand.
As a women-led firm with over 30 years of combined experience, we designed a programme rooted in genuine investment in the people who will shape the future of law in Trinidad and Tobago. Selected participants are paired one-to-one with a mentor drawn from CPFL Law and its network of legal professionals, with structured engagement across a six-month cycle.

“What kind of lawyer do you want to be?” is difficult for me to answer because I am still discovering the vast possibilities within the profession... I have to learn about navigating the legal profession. I am still building my plane but I have no idea which direction the plane will go once finished.

The profession, its standards and its practices are evolving. This programme can provide me with guidance on how to strike the balance with respecting the profession’s traditions while also respecting my worth and the value of the work I produce.

I want to learn from accomplished leaders, gain insight from their experiences, and develop the skills necessary to maximise my impact. Most importantly, I want to ensure that as I continue to rise, I remain equipped to create opportunities for others.
